How did ‘out of the blue’ come about?
Before Pam’s death Piotr had not written a single poem. Many hard months later their elder daughter went to a funeral where she heard Nicholas Evans’ moving poem ‘Walk Within You’ for the first time – and quickly told him about it. A eureka moment – for reading it triggered the journey that would end with the publication of this book.

About the people behind – Today Has Been Delayed
Three people have been key to the publication of this book of poetry. Pam, who passed away suddenly in 2014, and who has been the inspiration for many of the poems and for whom the book has been published as a memorial. Piotr, her husband, in whose arms she died, and whose emotions over the following decade found their way unexpectedly into poetry. And finally Harry, whose beautiful illustrations brought the book to life.

Piotr M Kalinowski
Piotr was moved to write these poems following the death of his wife Pam in 2014. He hadn’t written any poetry before that. He still lives at their home in Lincolnshire.
About The Illustrator & Engraver – Harry Brockway
The book is illustrated by eight beautiful wood engravings, lovingly created by the incredibly talented artist Harry Brockway, who was well known as one of the best wood engravers in the industry.
